Data transfer from large experimental equipment became a research bottleneck
- Many devices such as electron microscopes and X-ray diffraction equipment cannot be connected to the network for security reasons
- Vast amounts of experimental data were manually transferred via USB or DVD, wasting researchers' time and costs
- Human errors such as missed file copies and overwrite mistakes occurred
Solution (WHAT WE DID)
Commercialized "RxT" from joint research with the University of Tokyo Information Technology Center and deployed at large scale
Key point: Achieved commercialization in just one year
Results (AFTER)
Used by over 60 experimental devices and more than 1,500 First Name users
- Deployed to over 60 experimental devices (electron microscopes, X-ray diffraction equipment, microfabrication equipment, etc.)
