At the " COMNEXT 2nd [Next Generation] Communication Technology & Solutions Exhibition " held at Tokyo Big Sight from June 26-28, 2024, we introduced " Familia CALL " and " Familia Energy " from our Familia series. This report includes demonstrations conducted at our booth.
Exhibiting at COMNEXT Again This Year
COMNEXT is an international exhibition specializing in next-generation communication technology • solutions. This year's second edition featured six Worlds: 5G/6G communication technology, 5G/6G materials, local 5G, edge AI • IoT solutions, optical communication technology, and video transmission, attracting many domestic and international visitors seeking the latest products and technical information.
Following last year, we exhibited at the booth of 日清紡ホールディングス株式Company, where we serve as development promoter for Tokyo Metropolitan Government's 5G Technology Application Development Promotion Project. We introduced and demonstrated the next-generation IoT-enabled intercom " Familia CALL " and the energy-focused IoT platform " Familia Energy ".
Next-Generation IoT-Enabled Intercom " Familia CALL "
Familia CALL is a high-performance • low-cost intercom service for condominiums. While installing intercoms in condominiums typically faces challenges such as " high construction and equipment costs ", " long installation periods ", and " inability to update after installation ", Familia CALL solves these issues by leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as IoT • AI • and cloud to enable smartphone-based intercom functionality.
While conventional intercoms require expensive wiring work due to wired connections between the entrance and each unit's terminal, Familia CALL requires minimal wiring during installation by utilizing smartphones and cellular communication. At the venue, it was recognized as an innovative service that can be implemented at low cost. Using a dedicated smartphone app, we demonstrated the convenience of features including visitor response • template message response • voice change response • and visitor history viewing.
Energy-Focused IoT Platform " Familia Energy "
Familia Energy is a next-generation energy management platform designed to maximize building energy performance. With recent energy price surges, there is an urgent need to reduce energy waste across entire buildings, particularly in high-consumption facilities such as factories. As a solution, Familia Energy achieves energy savings by leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as IoT • AI • and cloud, while also contributing to carbon neutrality.
Reflecting the many companies facing energy conservation as an urgent issue, Familia Energy attracted widespread interest at the venue. While visitors observed the dashboard visualization of power consumption and temperature/humidity data collected by IoT sensors, we explained the mechanism for preventing energy waste through data-driven control of various equipment as a further initiative.
Familia Energy requires minimal construction during installation by adopting IoT sensors and wireless adapters. This ability to minimize implementation costs was also highly valued as a significant advantage.
